By Royal Appointment - The Coronation of King Charles III

On Saturday 6th May 2023 the Coronation of His Majesty The King will take place. The Coronation Ceremony will happen at Westminster Abbey, London, and will be conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury.

The Ceremony will see His Majesty King Charles III crowned alongside The Queen Consort.

Rumoured to be a slimmed down event, the Coronation will reflect the monarch’s role, which he has inherited from his late mother Queen Elizabeth II, and looks towards the future, while being rooted in longstanding traditions and pageantry from previous monarchs.

We are all encouraged to celebrate the Coronation of their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla by enjoying local celebrations and street parties. We don’t want our four-legged friends to miss out on the fun. From dog leads, to harnesses and collars, we have everything your dog needs to party like royalty on the Jubilee weekend.

His Majesty King Charles III and the Queen Consort follow in the late Queen Elizabeth II's footsteps with their love for dogs, particularly Jack Russell Terriers. They both follow and champion the work that organisations such as Battersea Dog and Cats home and Medical Detection Dogs do to help canines everywhere.

Last year, The Queen Consort urged Britons to adopt pets from Battersea as the charity saw a huge influx of animal’s post pandemic.

In fact, The Queen Consort's own dogs, Beth, and Bluebell, were adopted from Battersea, a UK based charity which has helped to re-home more than three million animals since being founded in 1860.

"You have all seen how easy it is to go there and come out with an animal, I've done it twice," she said, according to the BBC.  "There are, due to covid, a lot of dogs and cats now at Battersea looking for homes. So, if I could appeal to everybody listening and all your friends, if they want a dog or a cat, to go along to Battersea and find a friend for life."

The Medical Detection Dogs charity is a rather new charity, founded in 2008 by Dr John Church and Dr Claire Guest. The charity trains dogs to detect human disease and support people with life-threatening health conditions, saving lives daily, and supporting the NHS by helping to reduce the pressures of hospital admissions.

We look forward to following His Majesty King Charles III, Queen Camilla, and their dogs as we journey into the New Carolean Era.
